Embodying the Vision
Together we will get to the next threshold

What IS your story?

You have completed a Vision Quest. You made it through four days and nights without food. The wild world showed you many things. Slowly you saw yourself differently. Layers fell away, the scales dropped from your eyes.

And when you got back to basecamp your guides helped you to piece it all together, to mould a powerful sense of purpose and sketch out your new life story.

But that was many months ago, maybe several years. Perhaps you hold close to your purpose and are still walking the bright path you saw during those lonely nights. Maybe though, it has begun to feel like a hard road to walk alone.

We know from experience that the many pressures of life can pull the strongest of us back into our old habits and the familiar patterns of our lives. Looking back, it can come to feel like nothing significant really happened on your quest, or you might begin to feel like you need another big experience to make your breakthrough.

The truth is, you are in the midst of the final and probably hardest stage of you rite of passage. We know this as Incorporation, the process through which you take on the body of your vision and so begin to live your purpose from the inside out.

Embodying the Vision offers you the next step towards Incorporation via a deep creative process, working alone and as a group. Together we will get to the next threshold, we will stand in that place of frustration where the locked door won’t open and summon whatever magic we need to make it through to the other side.

If you are ready to embody what your quest taught you and make a deeper connection to what is being born through you, then Embodying the Vision is for you. Read on here. This year we are also opening this catalytic process to those who have worked with us before but not quested and want to embody a vision they have by entering into a creative process to actualise that vision.

“It is as though he had made a superb flight to the summit of a mountain top, realized it’s glory...but had been brought back to it’s starting point with rueful recognition that the steep path leading to it’s heights must be climbed step by step.”
— Roberto Assagioli (founder of Psychosynthesis Psychology)

Embodying the Vision - Details

About the weekend

We host this weekend at our summer base in the Lake District, in a little visited valley where magical things happen. Accommodation is in Alpine-style camping barns or in your own tent. Cooking is communal, although we provide dinner on the first night.

What will we cover?

You will enter a creative process that has the embodiment of your quest experience at its heart. Using a mixture of individual and group processes you consider the question “what is asking to be born through me?” During this time together you will:

  • Consider your individual intent and what is asking to be born in you as a result of questing.

  • Go through a tried and tested creative process that allows for the emergent to come and discernment of what’s important for you as you continue with incorporation.

  • Return to your solo spot for a 24hr “incubation” solo fast (for those who Quested elsewhere you will find a spot).

  • Consider your next concrete steps in maintaining and/or developing your vision.

  • Work with the mirrors of Nature and of Self.

  • Come together in Council to deepen your experience and have it mirrored back to you by your guides and the group.

Who is this Retreat for?

Open to those who have quested with Wild Rites or those who have enacted a vision quest elsewhere and wish to deepen their embodiment of Self through the deep incorporation of their vision and the learning that they brought back from their quest. We recommend this weekend as stage three of the Wild Rites Soul development pathway.

Who are your Guides?

You will be working with Alex Hatfield and Jon Keen, the founders of Wild Rites. Alex and Jon have many years guiding experience between them. Click on the links for more information.

What others say:

“ I had little idea what it meant to take the insights of my quest and embed them into my life in a tangible and transformative way. The incorporation weekend was the beginning of that process. It was difficult, challenging, soul affirming and utterly necessary.” - Sandy (June 2019)

Wow! I thought the original quest was full of impact and transformation. This small and simple gathering had such a profound impact on me integrating much of what I had seen in my original quest. “   - Jan Mikulin
