The Blessing Mirror
An eco-psychology training in the art of evoking Soul through nature based story.

One of the greatest gifts one human being can offer another is Soulful insight into their Wholeness. A trained Blessing Mirror Guide can enable the other to see and retrieve their Wholeness through the Mirror of Nature. A Blessing Mirror absorbs the other's story, tracks the thread of Self, and then offers the story back imbued with Soul.

This programme will run again in 2025.

A blessing evokes a privileged intimacy. It touches that tender membrane where the human heart cries out to its divine ground.
— John O'Donohue

Why The Blessing Mirror?

At Wild Rites we have developed a unique way of training you to mirror. We show you how to track the Wholeness that Nature reflects in another’s story so you can offer the story back as a blessing to its owner. To do this requires a training of your own Being, deep relationship to your own soulful nature and deep relationship to greater Nature. You need to be able to inhabit both the light and the shadow at the centre of your own story to be able to see this in another’s .

This development pathway enables you to polish your mirror. As a mirror we need to be clear enough to see the other and enable the other to see themselves through us, otherwise mirrors project and cloud visions of the Soul.

We work pan culturally and mythically alongside the medicine wheels and psychosynthesis psychology to bring forth the Blessing Mirror in you. Some people do this training as a ground to work with others, some do this for their own psycho-spiritual development and to deepen their relationship to Nature.

You will learn to:

  • Develop your soul life through Mythopoetic thought.

  • Open up to the sensory field, active imagination, and deep love and empathy for yourself and other.

  • Perceive Soul in Nature, yourself and other.

  • Work collaboratively with Nature to retrieve soul.

  • Create ceremonies where a person can retrieve their past, present and future story.

  • Take in another’s story and offer it back more enlivened and empowered.

  • Find the thread of Self in a person’s story and use this to pull their spiritual essence into the world so they can embody it.

  • Work with eco-psychosynthesis to understand projective identification, Nature as a mirror to the Self, and how we project onto each other and Nature.

You will learn to facilitate the following methods:

  • Mirroring - including methods for finding the story to be mirrored.

  • The Way of Council – as a method of holding space.

  • The Medicine Wheel as a map of Wholeness for the Self.

  • Mythopoetic Thought – storytelling, myths, fairy/folk tales, mythology, poetry & song as a way of self-understanding. To provide lenses beyond the rational.

  • Nature as a mirror to Self - Nature as our ground of Being.

Mirroring is about receiving and investing yourself in another’s story, finding the gold that’s hidden in plain sight, and offering it back to the one who hid it in the first place
— Alexandra Hatfield, Co-founder & Guide, Wild Rites
